Hybrid Powertrain Simulation
Designed and test a simulation to test various hybrid controls strategies in Matlab/Simulink. Simulation of a battery system, diesel engine, electric motor, drivetrain components (transmission and differential) and a road profile.
Pushbutton Bicycle Shifter
Designed and implemented a servo based push button shift mechanism for a custom downhill mountain bike. Features included a single shift as well as quick shift functions for both up and down. Shifter mechanism included a servo, a battery and an Arduino controller board.
Group project for Human Computer Interaction 575x, Computational Perception. Motion based interactive flight simulator. Allows user to navigate a virtual world from a birds perspective using body movements for navigation. Inputs include steering, gliding and wing flapping via infra red transmitters placed on the user. Video Based Car Counting Program
Individual class project for Human Computer Interaction 575x, Computational Perception. Identify and count vehicles traveling under a bridge in two directions using a capture from a rigidly mounted video camera. (Link is a 5.4MB video)
Vehicle Dynamics Simulation
Variable road condition vehicle simulation in Matlab. Simulation of suspension, steering, drivetrain, tire and vehicle trajectory. Monitor critical parameters such as vehicle rollover, and tire slip. Class project for Mechanical Engineering 549, Vehicle Dynamics.
ISU Mini Baja Electric Drive
Client and point of contact for an engineering senior project with the goal of electrifying a small off-road vehicle which would conform to the rules for the SAE® Mini Baja competition.
