So a friend is here visiting, and so this morning, for the first time, I went surfing, if you could call it that. The waves were bad, and I’m fat and uncoordinated, so I didn’t get up, but it was a lot of fun, and incredibly tiring. No pictures though, sorry. Besides, I was wearing a wet suit, and no one wants to see that.

Sitting at my desk just after lunch on Friday, I heard this loud, almost crashing noise. I, along with everyone else looked up and around wondering what happened. A loud crashing sound isn’t all that rare of a noise, considering there is a huge shop downstairs, but it was somewhat concerning, and louder/more of a rumble then usual. Turns out the space shuttle was landing out at Edwards, and the noise was the sonic boom it made as it was flying overhead. Crazy stuff.

One thing that I have noticed out here, besides space shuttles, is the number of ungodly expensive cars driving around. On my way home from work on Friday, I saw a Lotus, 2 Ferraris and a Lamborghini. This is not a long drive mind you. It only takes me 15min, and goes through Irvine. Irvine is not the mecca of wealth around here (from what I can tell, its fairly middle class). Craziness…and now, some car lovin
