My sister and cousin are coming to visit tomorrow, I am excited to actually see someone who I know, although I went down to San Diego last weekend to hang out with Robert (dangle) we didn’t do much and I didn’t stay long because I couldn’t get a ticket to the concert he was going to.  At any rate, I’m not sure what we are going to do, but I am none the less excited for some visitors.

My roommate is out of town this weekend because her grandmother died, which is sad.  She had a hell of a time getting a decent price on a flight this weekend due to it being Memorial Day.  Her brother was here last weekend visiting, which was cool.  He seems to be cool enough.  At any rate, since I have the place to myself, I am obviously bored.  Wonderful, feels just like old times.  Speaking of old times, I still don’t feel like I have moved.  It is still somewhat surreal and I have been here for 2.5 weeks.  I guess I will get used to it sometime.

Thats all for now, what do you think of the new theme?

Ikea

Beds at Ikea are cheap, but not really cheap enough.  Tonight I bought what is most definitely the cheapest complete bed to be found anywhere, at Ikea.  It was still about 250 bucks, which when I am trying to save money is not the greatest.  I just couldn’t stand the air mattress for any longer.  Maybe if it would have held air over night…

At any rate, thank goodness for lean packaging, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get it home.  It almost didn’t fit anyway because I haven’t really unpacked everything from my trunk.  A little seat movement and everything was solved though.  Hopefully going so cheap won’t have adverse effects on my sleep.  Only time will tell I suppose.  Oh well, one more beer will solve everything…

Adventures in Southern California

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

So if you don’t know, I moved to California for a job, and am now working for MillenWorks. I had a rough time finding an apartment, but eventually I found one, not ideal, of course, but the best I could do in a weekend. The most stressful part of the whole process was moving out here in a week. I had to drive across the country with all my stuff on a minimal budget. Because of this, I didn’t rent a u-haul or anything, just packed my car and left. Speaking of cars, I got another new car…this time it is another one of my mom’s older cars, but one generation newer. In fact, I traded with my mom, her old car for her current car. I feel pretty bad about it, but I guess she was ready for a new car anyway. I just hopes she actually gets one instead of just driving the old Honda forever. So the car, is of course, an Accord, a 2001 to be exact, with leather and sunroof and all that other stuff. Fun Fun.

California has been fun, but I haven’t had much time to do anything. I am working 9 hours a day, and still feel like I am leaving early each day. Kinda weird, but everyone works a ton of hours, but that is fine with me as long as I like what I am doing, and I will, once I get everything figured out and get more immersed into my projects. I can’t really talk much about my projects, but I can say that they are almost exactly what I have wanted to do. Plus, we have a truck in the Baja 1000, how cool is that? Pretty much a dream of mine.

I’ll keep you posted.
